V-Tick Remote

Affordable Remote Access to Direct Exchange Feeds & Execution Links

Latency with traditional consolidated feeds keeps increasing, making them unfit for use in powering algorithmic and other forms of program trading. Taking market data directly from the source, the exchanges themselves, solves the latency problem but, led by options, the spiraling volume of quotes and trades has caused data feed communication bandwidth and hardware requirements to double in each of the last five years. Through V-Tick, Essex Radez has solved this problem for those who can co-locate their applications in our data center and those who have inexpensive access to high-bandwidth fiber connectivity – now we offer a solution providing managed bandwidth and remote access.

V-Tick Remote starts with the recognition that while an application may need access to all market data, typically at any given moment it is accessing quotes and trades on only a subset of the market. Therefore, allowing the application to control what data is sent to it can dramatically reduce the required communications bandwidth and hardware load. V-Tick Remote incorporates KMD technology allowing the application to establish this control by maintaining a dynamic watch-list of securities, effectively filtering the full feed while insuring access to every security whenever needed. We call this technology “intelligent multicasting” and it provides you with affordable remote access to the market data with the lowest possible latency. And for those who desire additional control over growing communications bandwidth, V-Tick Remote offers the option of having data records dynamically compacted through FAST FIX technology before they are transmitted.

Incorporating the KMD suite of API functions, V-Tick Remote provides your applications with data parsing, access to derived data fields, and a uniform access method to the market data feeds of virtually all North American exchanges and ECNs via a managed extranet connection. Moreover, V-Tick Remote offers access to the execution links of these same exchanges and ECNs and this same API can be used to dynamically access Clarity, the only interactive tick history service providing complete data and query capability for all US equity, option, and futures exchanges.

V-Tick Remote may be used as the sole source of direct exchange data or combined with an in-house ticker plant to allow for a hybrid infrastructure – full feed delivery of selected exchange feeds to your data center while having others available through V-Tick Remote – it's your choice.
